Black Rose Shrimp are a striking and unique addition to any freshwater aquarium, known for their deep black colouration with a slight reddish tint. Our black rose shrimp for sale are not only visually appealing but also help to maintain a clean tank by feeding on algae, detritus and organic waste.
Location
Black Rose Shrimp are a selectively bred colour form of Neocaridina davidi, whose wild ancestors come from streams in Taiwan and southern China. They thrive in clean, stable water conditions. In aquariums, they prefer water conditions that mimic their natural habitat, with clear water and surfaces for grazing.
Diet
Black Rose Shrimp are detritivores, feeding on algae, biofilm, and decaying organic matter. They will also scavenge leftover food in the tank. To keep them healthy and vibrant, supplement their diet with high quality shrimp pellets, algae wafers, and blanched vegetables such as spinach or courgette.
Care
These shrimp require stable water conditions with a temperature range of 22°C to 28°C and a pH of 6.5 to 7.5. Regular water changes are crucial to their well-being. Avoid using medications containing copper, as copper is toxic to shrimp.
Habitat
To create an ideal habitat for your Black Rose Shrimp, use a soft substrate like sand or fine gravel. Adding live plants, driftwood, and rocks provides surfaces for grazing and hiding spots. These shrimp prefer low water current, so ensure your filtration system is gentle.
Breeding
Breeding Black Rose Shrimp in an aquarium is relatively simple. Females carry their eggs beneath their abdomen until they hatch into tiny shrimp. These newborn shrimp are independent and immediately start foraging on biofilm and detritus.

Mixed client experience
Due to a lack of stock the delivery date kept getting set further and further back. Though I was compensated by being offered additional killifish and shrimp, which was excellent, after nearly a month no shrimp had arrived and I was offered a refund.
Very understanding customer service representatives, but at times frustrating and unclear.
