Location

Native to the warm waters of northern South America and the Caribbean, Gold Guppies thrive in tropical aquariums with hard, slightly alkaline water. These fish prefer environments that resemble their natural habitat, with plenty of plants and open swimming spaces.

Diet

Gold Guppies are omnivores and enjoy a varied diet. They accept high quality flake foods, pellets, and live or frozen foods like brine shrimp and daphnia. A well-balanced diet helps maintain their health and vibrant golden colour.

Care

This species thrives in water temperatures between 22 and 28°C with a neutral to slightly alkaline pH. Regular water changes and good filtration are important to keep Gold Guppies healthy, as they are sensitive to poor water quality.

Habitat

Gold Guppies do well in planted aquariums with hard or medium hard water. They appreciate calm environments and can be housed with other peaceful species in a community tank. Providing plenty of hiding spots and open areas for swimming will make them feel at ease.

Breeding

Gold Guppies are livebearers, meaning they give birth to live young instead of laying eggs. With the right conditions, breeding is easy and can be done in a well-maintained aquarium. Be sure to separate the pregnant females into a breeding tank to avoid predation from other fish.

Shipping Information

We take care to ensure your order arrives in excellent condition and ready to settle into your aquarium. All orders are shipped with tracking, and the cut-off time for same-day dispatch is 4 pm.

Orders containing dry goods, shrimp, snails or plants are dispatched Monday to Friday via Royal Mail for fast, reliable delivery. Livestock, in particular live fish and invertebrates, are dispatched Monday to Wednesday only, using an approved overnight courier, to avoid weekend delays and ensure safe and timely delivery.

Track Your Order

You will receive a tracking number by email when we begin processing your order for shipping. The selected courier will provide updates on delivery only through their tracking page.

During colder weather, heat packs are added when needed. Livestock orders are carefully packed in insulated boxes to help maintain a stable temperature throughout transit.
