Gold Mystery Snail is a peaceful and decorative freshwater snail loved for its bright golden yellow shell and active nature. Our mystery snails for sale grow to around 5cm and make a great addition to community tanks, helping to control algae and keep the substrate clean.

Location

Originally native to South America, the Gold Mystery Snail thrives in slow flowing rivers, ponds, and lakes. In aquariums, they adapt easily to a range of freshwater conditions with stable temperatures and gentle filtration.

Diet

These snails are natural scavengers and feed on algae, uneaten food, and decaying plant matter. You can supplement their diet with algae wafers, blanched greens like spinach or courgette, and pellets rich in calcium to support shell health.

Care

Gold Mystery Snails prefer water temperatures between 22°C and 28°C, with a pH of 7.0 to 8.0. Avoid treatments containing copper, which are harmful to invertebrates. Ensure they have clean water and adequate calcium to prevent shell erosion.

Habitat

These snails enjoy aquariums with soft substrates, plenty of hiding places, and live or artificial plants. They’re excellent climbers and may explore glass walls, plants, and filter pipes. Be sure to cover the tank, as they may crawl out of open aquariums.

We take care to ensure your order arrives in excellent condition and ready to settle into your aquarium. All orders are shipped with tracking, and the cut-off time for same-day dispatch is 4 pm.

Orders containing dry goods, shrimp, snails or plants are dispatched Monday to Friday via Royal Mail for fast, reliable delivery. Livestock, in particular live fish and invertebrates, are dispatched Monday to Wednesday only, using an approved overnight courier, to avoid weekend delays and ensure safe and timely delivery.

Track Your Order

You will receive a tracking number by email when we begin processing your order for shipping. The selected courier will provide updates on delivery only through their tracking page.

During colder weather, heat packs are added when needed. Livestock orders are carefully packed in insulated boxes to help maintain a stable temperature throughout transit.
